GERALDINE YANCEY

Geraldine Yancey, age 76 years, of Whitey City, Kentucky died February 22, 2014 at her home.  Funeral services were held Monday, February 24, 2014 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Coffey and Rev. John Duvall, Jr. officiating.  Burial was in the Owens Family Cemetery.

She was born in Greenwood, Kentucky on August 1, 1937 the daughter of the late Enoch C. and Tilda J. (Hughes) Owens.  She was a homemaker, member of the Day Ridge United Baptist Church, and the ATV Club.

Her parents; son, Christopher L. Yancey; daughter, Deborah Y. Yancey; brothers, Earnest Owens, Harvey Owens, Ray Owens, and James Owens; and sisters, Bertha Owens, Clara Tucker, Anna M. Owens, Mildred Owens, and Armilda Owens precede her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Reed Yancey of Whitley City, Kentucky; son, Edward Yancey and wife, Barbara of Whitley City, Kentucky; brothers, Samuel Owens of New Castle, Indiana and Silas Owens and wife, Wanda of Whitley City, Kentucky; sister, Bonnie Wilson of Somerset, Kentucky; a special granddaughter, Ashley Yancey Weddle and husband, Jesse; granddaughter, Jessica Yancey; great grandchildren, Jayden and Aiden Perry and 2 from Jessica; brother in law, Doyle Yancey and wife, Ruby; and sisters in law, Glenna Stanton and husband, Novin, Lois Coffey and husband, Pat, and Elva Hughes and husband, Charlie.
