George Vestal Renfro, Jr., age 56 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Friday, July 8, 2022 at his home.
He was born in Whitley City, Kentucky on December 20, 1965 the son of George V. Renfro, Sr and Thelma Joyce (Taylor) Renfro. George had worked as a line tech for CTA Acoustics for 31 years and his co-workers he had taken in as his own family. He was the church clerk for the Pleasant Knob United Baptist Church, he enjoyed going to church but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
His father; mother, Thelma Joyce Renfro Barnett and husband, Hurstle; and sisters, Carol Knowles, Susan Collins, and Valerie Renfro precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Branch) Renfro, whom he had spent the last 21 years of his life; children, Ashley Nicole Stephens (Jonathan) of Monticello, Kentucky, Amber Natasha Clark (Israel) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Kendra Lynn Nichols of Knoxville, Tennessee, Dylan Renfro (Chloe) of Albany, Kentucky, and William Renfro (Montana) of Somerset, Kentucky; brothers, Thomas Renfro (Beverly) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky and Clay Barnett of Sidney, Ohio; sisters, Catherine Bayer (Milton) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sharon Burnett of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joyce Barnett (Clayton) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Georgia Keith (Robert) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Reda Bennett (Ronald) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, and Susie Barnett of Tennessee; a special aunt, Marie Renfro; grandchildren, Jesse “Super Grandson” Stephens, Anabelle “Dewdrop” Stephens, Henry “Goat” Stephens, Hazel “Squirt Bottom Patterpoo” Clark, and Presley “Cotton Top” Stephens; mother-in-law, Glenna Watson, whom he loved as his own mother; cousin, Leslie “Bud” Jones that he reserved in his heart as a son; and numerous other family and friends he held near to his heart.
Funeral services will be held 4pm Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Dewayne Perry and Bro. Daniel Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Thursday at the Funeral Home.
