GAYNELL WHITAKER

Gaynell Whitaker, age 78 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died April 28, 2013 at the McCreary Health and Rehab in Pine Knot, Kentucky.  Funeral services were held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 1pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. William Clark and Rev. William Kilby officiating.  Burial was in the Ross Grove Cemetery.

She was born January 5, 1935 in Barthell, Kentucky the daughter of the late Russell Allen and Dortha (Ross) West.  She had worked in a factory and was a member of the Otter Creek Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Theresa Hamilton, one brother, Alford West and one sister Faye West.

Survivors include her two brothers, Leroy West of Strunk, Kentucky, and Alvis West of Florida, one sister, Betty Rose Rich of Indianapolis, Indiana, two grandchildren, Cheyene Hamilton and Stephen Wayne Whitaker, an three great grandchildren, Indred Whitaker, Jeremiah Laxton and Destiny Laxton.
