Gary Gene Clark, age 64 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Friday, February 14, 2025 at his mother’s home in Whitley City, Kentucky.
He was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on April 27, 1960 the son of Elmer “Shorty Edwin Clark and Glenna L. (Canada) Clark. Gary had been a coal miner for Blue Diamond Coal and of the Baptist Faith. He was an avid dirty track race car driver of Orange and White #17 Camero and enjoyed deer hunting.
His father; wife, Nancy (Staley) Clark; daughter, Amy Combs; grandparents, Luther and Pauline Clark and Arnold “Puddle” and Martha Canada; brother-in-law, David Gregory, and niece Stacy Clark precede him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Glenna L. Clark of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughter, Barbara Jean “BJ” Clark of Pine Knot, Kentucky; brothers, Larry Clark and wife, Sandra of Whitley City, Kentucky and Ricky Clark of Whitley City, Kentucky; sister, Shirley Gregory of Somerset, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kaylee Heath (Kyle), Garret Combs (Alyssa Keith), Madsion Moore (Cody), and John Thomas Combs; great grandchildren, MaKinlee, Teighan and Andee Heath, Keeton and Kason Flannery, Jonah Slemp and Jacey Moore; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Hamlin (Wesley, Lindsey Ball (Will), Jamie Clark (Ashley), Heather Clark, Lucas Gregory, and Sarah Creekmore (Jonathan).
Funeral services will be held 1pm Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Nate Howard and Bro. Timothy Corder officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to assist with funeral expenses.
