Garland Burke Jr., of Stearns, Kentucky, departed this life on June 11, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Garland and Clara Jones Burke.
Junior was loved by all his family very much. What's more notable is how much he loved his family. He was family oriented and active in all their lives. He especially loved his great nephew Dante Joe Burke. His favorite pass time was playing with Dante, especially ball and guns. He spent his life enjoying playing with all his nieces and nephews.
Despite being special needs, he was a independent man almost all his adult life. He took care of maintenance and mowing for his beloved church, Pleasant Rock Baptist. He overcame being special needs in many ways, but the most important was all the ways he helped his family and was always there for them.
His very first niece, Jessica Burke, spent a lot of time visiting and stating near his bedside while in the hospital, so he never felt alone.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Burke, and sister, Tammy Payne.
He is survived by his brother, Timmy Burke and wife Jeanine of Stearns, Ky., sister, Ginger Wallen of Pine Knot, KY, sister-in-law, Loretta Burke of Stearns, Ky., very special niece, Jessica Burke and a very special great nephew, Dante Burke along with several other nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Garland was a member of Pleasant Rock United Baptist Church, and really enjoyed attending his church. He liked boating and fishing, being around children and watching Sci-Fi shows.
