Foriesteen Phyllis Vanover, age 80 years, of Whitely City, Kentucky died November 19, 2013 in Pine Knot, Kentucky at the McCreary Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11am with Rev. Bill Patrick officiating. Burial was in the Higginbotham Cemetery.
She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on October 9, 1933 the daughter of the late France and Desda Mae (Strunk) Jones. She was a machine operator at the Shirt Factory and a member of the Indian Creek United Baptist Church.
Her parents; daughter, Vickie Lynn Stephens; brother, Merrill Jones; and sister, Lois Vanover precede her in death.
Survivors include her son, Michael Vanover and wife, Susan of Revelo, Kentucky; brothers, Ruthel Jones and Sherrill Jones both of Whitley City, Kentucky; and sisters, Marilyn Sumner and Patsy Owens both of Whitley City, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
