Etta F. Summitt, age 94 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died December 29, 2013 in Oneida, Tennessee at the Oneida Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Bryant officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery.
She was born in Arkansas on December 2, 1919 the daughter of the late Euwin and Tinny Bowen. She was a homemaker; member of the Redemption Way Church; and loved going to church.
Her parents; husband, William A. Summitt; son, Ernest Ray Summitt; and sister, Juanita Finnell precede her in death.
Survivors include her son, Billy G. Summitt and wife, Betty of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughters, Faye Lane and husband, Ray and Peggy Dodson both of Lebanon, Missouri; 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren; 57 great great grandchildren; and a special grandson, Terry Delaughter.
