ESSTER LONA HOWARD

Esster Lona Howard, age 89 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died July 6, 2010 in Corbin, Kentucky at the Baptist Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday July 9, 2010 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Coffey officiating. Burial was in the Harrison Morrow Cemetery. The Family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday July 8, 2010 at the funeral home. She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on March 25, 1921 the daughter of the late George Albert and Maggie Hughes Young. She was a homemaker and a member of the Day Ridge Church of God. Her parents, husband Elmer Howard, son Jason Howard, daughter Mary Lou Davis, brothers Charlie Young, Samuel Young, Raymond Young, Dave Young, Cloyd Young, Jimmy Young, and Jake Young, sisters Ida Ballou, Nora Wilson, and Desda Waters, and grandchildren Clell Yancey and Angel Davis precede her in death. Survivors include sons Boyd Howard of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Eddie Howard and Jerry Howard both of Whitley City, Kentucky, daughters Virginia Yancey of Whitley City, Kentucky and Judy Ground of Bowling Green, Kentucky, brother Cecil Young of Whitley City, Kentucky, and sister Claira Vanover of Hartsville, South Carolina. Seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren also survive. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
