Essie Marie Ross Tucker age 77 died September 23, 2011 at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. James Cox officiating.
She was born on January 23, 1934 in Revelo, Kentucky to Marion Ross and Nellie King Ross. Essie was baptized at the Madison Ave. Baptist Church in Covington, Kentucky where she was a member.
Her father, mother, a son, Michael Don Murphy, and a sister, Georgia Ross precedes her in death.
Essie leaves behind her husband, Leon Tucker; two sisters, Elsie Lock of Versailles, Indiana, and Evelyn Ruth Newforth of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Michael Don Ross of Cincinnati, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Tonya Wesley of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Cortney Vanover of Stearns, Kentucky; great-great-grandchildren, Peyton, Ethan, Dylan, Austin, and Ranzy; and a numerous number of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and gave dearly of her time and helped in every way she could.
She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Essie was a giver, she gave homemade jellies, canned green beans, or dollars, if she could help or make someone happy.
A special thanks to Rose Meadows, who was a very dear friend and cared for Essie day and night.
