ERNEST DUTCH CHANEY

Ernest Darrell “Dutch” Chaney, age 87 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died at his home on March 7, 2012.  Funeral services were held Friday March 9, 2012 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. David Troxell officiating.  Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery.

He was born in Whitley City, Kentucky on September 30, 1924 the son of the late Arthur and Violet (Roder) Chaney.  He was a retired Car Hauler for MNG Convoy and served his country in the US Navy during WWII.

His parents, wife, Darlis (Slavey) Chaney, and brothers, Roy Chaney and Ralph Chaney precede him in death.

Survivors include his son, Walter Chaney of New Jersey, daughters, Kathy Young of New Jersey, Joy Chaney of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Donnie Mayner of Science Hill, Kentucky.  Grandchildren, Timothy Darrell Chaney, Brian Chaney, Mason Mayner, and Rachel Mayner also survive.
