EFFIE JANE STEPHENS

Effie Jane Stephens, age 91 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died Monday January 10, 2011 at the McCreary Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held Thursday January 13, 2011 at 1pm in the Bethel Baptist Church. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery. THE FAMILY WILL RECIEVE FRIENDS AFTER 6PM WEDNESDAY JANUARY 12, 2011 AT THE MCCREARY COUNTY FUNERAL HOME. She was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky on November 2, 1919 the daughter of the late William and Amie (Kidd) Perkins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Her parents, husband Grover Stephens, brothers Fred Perkins, Ed Perkins, Chester Perkins, Lewis Perkins, Leamon Perkins, and Oscar Perkins, sisters Bessie Mullins and Ada Murphy, and grandchild Lisa Chalk precede her in death. Survivors include sons Lonnie Stephens of Chicago, Illinois, and Darrell Stephens of Pine Knot, Kentucky, daughters Sue Carol Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio, Opal Simpson of Alexandria, Kentucky, Morlene Keith of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Gertrude Conatser of Cincinnati, Ohio, brother Joe Arthur Perkins of Milan, Indiana, and sister Dora Lynch of West Union, Ohio. Seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
