EDWARD B. "TOAD" MURPHY

Edward Bert “Toad†Murphy age 89 years of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 8pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie King officiating. Burial followed Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10am at the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery.
He was born October 13, 1922 in Revelo, Kentucky to John Bert Murphy and Minnie Crabtree Murphy. Toad was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Shiners, the American Legion, VFW, DAV, Masonic Lodge Orie S. Ware, and Laurel Heights Chapter # 288OES.
His mother, father, brothers, Floyd, Carl, Claude, and Howard Murphy, and sisters, Maude Childers, and Mae Stephens precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Murphy of Stearns, Kentucky; a son, Larry Dale Murphy and wife, Katie, of Stearns, Kentucky; a daughter, Linda Corder and her husband, Douglas, of Whitley City, Kentucky; step-children, Brenda Bartley and husband, Bill, Beverly Branscum and husband, Alvin, Ronnie Jones and wife, Mary Ann, all of Stearns, Kentucky, and David Jones and wife, Janice of Whitley City, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Masonic services provided by the Masonic Lodge Orie S. Ware, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 7pm.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
