Edna "Lou" Lucille Shoopman

Edna Lucille “Lou” Shoopman, age 75 years, of Monticello, Kentucky died Monday February 13, 2017 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Jean Waddle Care Center surrounded by family and friends.

She was born March 1, 1941 in Fidelity, Kentucky to Arnold Clayton and Geneva (Wright) Shoopman.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Hickory Knob United Baptist Church and attended the Meadows Creek Baptist Church.  Lou loved going to church, listening to gospel music, bird watching, watching Margaret on WLJC-TV, and jigsaw puzzles.

Her parents and brother, Archie Shoopman precede her in death.

Survivors include her brothers, Roger Shoopman and wife, Lois of Revelo, Kentucky, James Roy Shoopman and wife, Glenda of Berea, Kentucky, Robert Shoopman and wife, Debbie and Jerry Shoopman and wife, Carolene both of Stearns, Kentucky, and Paul Shoopman of Loudon, Tennessee; sisters, Delois Jones and husband Glen of Monticello, Kentucky, Faye Jones and husband, Lonnie of Stearns, Kentucky, Lena Jones and husband, Bronnie of Monticello, and Kathy Jones and husband, Howard of Winfield, Tennessee; special friend's, Erma Herrmann of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Viola and Dennis Freeman of Somerset, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

 Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Rufus Hughes and Bro. Howard Slagle officiating.  Burial to follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after 6pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
