Eartha Jones

Eartha Cornett Harris Jones, age 78, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at the Union City Care Center in Union City, Ohio.  

She was born at Little Laurel, Kentucky, on February 1, 1938, to the late Pearl and Mae (Browning) Cornett.  Besides her parents she is preceded in death by two husbands, Lloyd F. Harris and Ore Estes Jones, she is also preceded in death by her son: Jack Kerry Harris, one brother: Paul Cornett and two sisters: Bertha Vaughn and Clara Blair.

Surviving family include her children: Lisa Ann Harris, Gary Allen Harris, and Sanford Lee Harris all of Sidney, Ohio; a brother: John Cornett, Oceola, Ohio; and sisters: Katherine Bakewell of Baxter, Tennessee; Janette Gray, Marion, Ohio; Elva Lee Russell, Lafayette, Tennessee; Naomi Nash, Monticello, Kentucky; and Alma Jean Barrett and Brenda Faye Schmoldt, both of Sunbright, Tennessee.  She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Eartha was a member of Mossy Grove Baptist Church; she was a homemaker and devoted Christian and loving mother to her children.  She also enjoyed her dolls, gardening, sewing, and praising the Lord.

Services will be held at the McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m., on July 8, 2016.  Bro. Scottie Corder will be officiating.  Interment will be at the Stearns Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
