Earl Junior Vanover, age 53 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Bluegrass Hospice Care in Hazard, Kentucky.
He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on November 5, 1966, the son of the late Claude and Martha Mae (Vanover) Goodin. Earl was a member of the Sawyer Missionary Baptist Church and had worked as maintenance control for a furniture factory. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Perneida King Hurd. He was raised by the only father he ever knew, Eric Clayton Barnett and his wife Joyce of Parkers Lake, a son, Dillon Vanover of North Carolina, a daughter, Brittany Calhoun of Taylorsville, North Carolina, five brothers: James Barnett of Parkers Lake, Stony Renfro of Parkers Lake, Earnest Barnett of Parkers Lake, Darrin Renfro of Parkers Lake and Estle Swain of Whitley City, sisters: Cora Earls of Michigan, Shonda Diaz of Monticello, Jeannie Flynn of Parkers Lake, Chrissy Jones of Parkers Lake and Martha Price of Parkers Lake. He is also survived by his former wife Madge Vanover of Strunk, Kentucky, a step-daughter, Jamie King (Donnie), and step-grandchildren: Dalton, Rayley, MarLeigh, Lucas, and Courtney.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 16, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Eagle Creek United Baptist Church with Bro. Wade Heath and Bro. Daniel Ridener officiating. Special music will be provided by Israel Clark. He will be laid to rest at the Eagle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon until time for services at the church.
