October 16, 1924 — April 9, 2014

Doyal Bryant, 89 of Milan passed away Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Ripley Crossing at Milan. Doyal was born Thursday October 16, 1924 in Youngs Creek, Kentucky the son of Charles and Myrtle (Hamblin) Bryant. He married Lucy Myree (Bryant) Bryant October 9, 1951 and she survives. Doyal served his country in the Army during WWII, and then worked for F.H. Lawson in Cincinnati for many years. He was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church, the Milan VFW and the coffee shop club. He enjoyed listening to his scanner and tinkering in the garage.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy, sons Charles Bryant of Milan, Andrew (Bobbie) Bryant of Versailles, Darrell Bryant of Bloomington, and Harold Bryant of Unionville, daughters Betty Henschen of Madison and Glenda (Billy) Raisor of Milan, brothers Virgil and Vernon Bryant, sister Vivian Jackson, 10 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by a brother Maynard Bryant.
Local visitation will be Friday April 11, 2014, 6-8PM at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan. Funeral services will be at 3PM Sunday April 13, at McCreary County Funeral Home, Whitley City, Kentucky with visitation 1-3 on Sunday. Burial with full military honors will follow in Higgambotham Cemetery at Whitley City. Memorials may be made to the Milan First Baptist Church.
