Dorothy E. "Dot" Smith (Manning) of Boca Raton, Florida, age 92, passed away on March 2, 2017. Dorothy was born on March 22, 1924 in Barren Fork, Kentucky to Charley (d 1931) and Myrtle (d 1974) Manning.
Dorothy married Odie Smith (d 1998), a World War II, 82ABD, veteran, on May 2nd, 1947. Together, they lived and raised their family in Cincinnati, Ohio. Odie and Dorothy later lived in Boca Raton, Florida.
To her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, adopted fur-grandchildren, and friends, she will forever be remembered as kind, loving, eternally optimistic, and the best apple pie maker east of the Mississippi, arguably the universe.
In addition to her late husband, Dorothy is predeceased by her two younger sisters, Thelma Bryant, (d 2004) and Gloria Alean Holloway (d 1996), and one of her grandchildren, Jerod Finkes (d 2007).
She was a devoted wife and loving mother to five daughters: Brenda J. Sommer (spouse Jay) of Boca Raton, FL; Wilma June Chatman (spouse Robert) of Las Cruces, NM; Joyce Ann Tolliver (spouse, James, d. 2016) of Cincinnati, OH, Beverly Gail Lim (spouse Robert), of Boca Raton, FL, Iris Suzette Smith of West Palm Beach, FL, and step-daughter Peggy-Jo Parker (spouse Alan) of Burbage, Leicestershire, England.
Dorothy is survived by her grandchildren: Andrea Chatman, Adrienne Messer (spouse Ben), Michael Chatman (spouse Brittany), Shon McCall (partner Melissa), Sarah Melissa Lim (partner Matthew), Adam Anthony Lim (spouse Meredith), Rachel Iris Lim, Chrisi Givens (spouse Danny), Angie Finkes (spouse Nick), Amberlee Finkes (Jerod's spouse), and two step-grandchildren, Sharon De Mott (partner Dick) and Deon (spouse Bev) Parker.
She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren: Kade and Kelsey Messer, Hudson and Audrey Chatman; Kaia Lim, Landon and Leah Lim; Eva and Ethan Finkes, Kiara Marshall, Trinity and Eden Givens, Rebecca, Kylee, Gwynedd, and Fianna Finkes. And three step-great grandchildren: Ellie and Todd Parker; Ashleigh-Deanne Parker.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 11th, at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Burial to follow at the Pine Knot Cemetery, Pine Knot, Kentucky.
