Donald Ray Gentry

Donald Ray Gentry, age 76, of Stearns, KY, died on November 11, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Smithtown, KY on November 21, 1946, the son of Don and Elvaree (Hickman) Gentry. Donald was a member of the Flagg Springs Baptist Church. He was the care taker of the Hickman Cemetery. He was known to many people by his CB handle "Big R". Fishing, hunting, gardening, playing video games, and talking to family and friends was his favorite past times.

His parents; brothers Bob and James Gentry; and sister Doreen Stevenson; and sister in-law Debbie Gentry and Gerry Gentry precede him in death.

Survivors include his brothers; Joe, Bruce, and Clay Gentry all of Stearns KY,  and Luke (Terry) Gentry of Walton KY; and sisters Alma Gentry of Edgewood KY, and Nona (Charlie) Hein of Alexandria KY; and a sister in-law Lynn Gentry of Augusta KY; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday November 15, 2023 at 2pm in the chapel of  McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Scottie Corder Officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday after 12pm at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Hickman Cemetery.
