David Carroll Coleman, age 72 years, of Burnside, Kentucky died August 7, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was born in Corinth, Kentucky on June 7, 1949 the son of Artie “Pete” Chester and Shirley Levern (Brown) Coleman. David had worked for the Cumberland Falls State Park and retired from the McCreary County Water District, he had served as Fire Chief of the Eagle-Sawyer Fire Department, was a member of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church. He loved old cars, race cars, and spending time with family.
His parents precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carolyn (Goodin) Coleman of Burnside; children, Marvin “Dee” Coleman of Carrollton, Kentucky, Angie Wheelen (Greg) of Newport, Kentucky, David “DJ” Coleman of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Willis Taylor (Pam) of Parkers Lake, Michelle Taylor of Burnside, and Krystal Clark of Burnside; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Connie Hardin (Greg) of Indiana, Mona Laxton (Dee) of Stearns, Kentucky, and Brenda Douglas of Pine Knot, Kentucky; and brother Wilbur Huddleston of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held 11am Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the Pleasant Knob United Baptist Church with Bro. Dow Goodin and Bro. John Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlar Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Church.
