Dallas M. Elkins, age 67 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died March 31, 2014 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Jean Waddle Care Center. Funeral services were held Saturday April 5, 2014 at 2pm in the Glory Bound Freewill Baptist Church in Ashcamp, Kentucky. Burial was in the Childers Cemetery.
He was born in Elkhorn City, Kentucky on December 31, 1946 the son of the late Arville Odney and Mary (Silcox) Elkins. He was a coal miner and a member of the Hartland Church of God.
His parents; brothers, Jimmy and Roland Elkins; and step brother and sisters, Curt, Opal, Ann, and Jane; precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Jones Elkins of Stearns, Kentucky; son, Dallas Jerry Ray Elkins of Alabama; daughters, Ramona Sue Preston and husband Brian of Ulysses, Kentucky, Loretta Jean Toxey and husband, Johnny of Centerville, Alabama, and Alice Ruth Perry of Alabama; step children, Kathy Williamson and husband, Jerry of Whitley City, Kentucky, Jerry Jones and wife, Melissa, and Lisa Spradlin and husband, Kenneth of Strunk, Kentucky; brother, Jerry Kyle Elkins and wife, Dean of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; sister in law, Libby Elkins; 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
