Cora Wilson

Cora Wilson, age 91 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died Saturday, June 1, 2019 at her home.

She was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on October 4, 1927 the daughter of Robert and Nazzie (Strong) Griffith. Cora was a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God and Laurel Heights Chapter #288 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired school teacher and an avid gardener.

Her parents; husband of 43 years, Harry Wilson, brothers, Donald Griffith and Robert Griffith; sisters, Mary E. Cox and Mildred Dilts; and great grandchildren, Jessie and Jolee Taylor precede her in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Harriett Wallace of Pike, California and Nazzie Ellis of Pine Knot; grandchildren, Courtney Taylor, Aaron Wallace, and Andrea Jade Ellis; great grandchildren, Kosei Wallace, Corabelle Wallace, Sky Davis, and Lyon Wallace; and other special family along with her church family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 1pm in the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God with Bro. William Kilby and Bro. Brent Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Eastern Star services will be held Tuesday at 7pm at the funeral home.
