Christeen Stephens, age 94 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died March 6, 2013 in Summerfield, Florida at The Tuscany House. Funeral services were held Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 11am with Rev. Mark Sewell, Rev. Elvin Boles and Harold Dalton officiating. Burial was in the Neeley Creek Cemetery, in Pulaski County.
She was born in Hazard, Kentucky on June 15, 1918 the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Cook Vanover. She was a homemaker and member of the Indian Creek United Baptist Church.
Her parents, husband, Starlin Stephens, two sons, Kenneth Stephens and Charles Hamilton; two brothers Glen Vanover and Herbert Vanover and sisters, Goldie Hammock and Bertie Smith precede her in death.
Survivors include her sons Donald Nichols and wife Betty of Whitley City, Kentucky, Lawrence Eddie Stephens and wife Janelle of Science Hill, Kentucky, Ronnie Stephens of Whitley City, Kentucky, daughters Joyce Dalton and husband Harold of South Amburst, Ohio, Wilma McKee, Glenna Faye Barnett of Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda Perry and husband Joe of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Donna Atwood of Pine Knot, Kentucky, brothers Clinton Vanover of Somerset, Kentucky and Lindon Vanover of Whitley City, Kentucky and sister Macy Neal of Whitley City, Kentucky, 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.
