Chester Charles Crabtree, age 83 year, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died February 23, 2013 in Corbin, Kentucky at the Baptist Health Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev.Melvin Trammell, Bro. Andy Crabtree and Bro. Brian Crabtree officiating. Burial was in the Crabtree Cemetery.
He was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky on December 18, 1929 the son of the late Crit and Mary Belle Kidd Crabtree. He was a logger.
His parents, wife, Shirley Ethel Taylor Crabtree, one son David Crabtree, two brothers, Ernest and Walter Crabtree, three sisters, Nora West, Dora Maynard, Irene Burke, and 2 grandchildren preceded him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Jim Crabtree, Allen Crabtree, Randy Crabtree all of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Chris Crabtree of Revelo, Kentucky, Donna Woodford of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Kathy Kelly of Somerset, Kentucky, Elizabeth Moore of Oneida, Tennessee, Teresa Ball of Strunk, Kentucky, Tonya Crabtree of Revelo, Kentucky and Vickie Campbell of Pine Knot, Kentucky, brothers Bill and Frank Crabtree of Pine Knot, Kentucky, sisters Maxine Slavey of Oneida, Tennessee and Lorene Phillips of Stearns, Kentucky. Fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
