Carrie Strunk Coffey age 89 of Whitley City, Kentucky died Monday, May 21, 2012 at the McCreary Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Stephens officiating. Burial followed in the Flat Rock Cemetery.
She was born June 7, 1922 in Wiborg, Kentucky to Gainsey and Elizabeth (Vanover) Strunk. Carrie was a homemaker and a member of the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
Her father, mother, husband, Harley Coffey, a daughter, Naomi Ruth, a grandson, Jonathan Tucker, brothers, Estle Strunk and Ralph Strunk; and sister, Mada Roberts precede her in death.
She is survived by her children, Joyce T. Keith and husband, Arnold, Wendell âJesseâ Coffey and wife, Rita, Bill Coffey and wife, Phyllis, Harley Jr. Coffey and wife, Pauline, all of Whitley City, Kentucky, Larry Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky, Tommy Coffey of Whitley City, Kentucky, Stanley Coffey and wife, Loretta, of Lancaster, Kentucky, and Jerry Coffey of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and sister, Dorothy Bolin of South Lebanon, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews that were very dear to her, also survive.
