Carolyn Godsey

Carolyn Faye Godsey, of Stearns, Kentucky, departed this life at the Jean Waddle Care Center of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, on September 17, 2014 being 71 years, 4 months, 11 days old. She was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on May 6, 1943 the daughter of the late Oscar and Edith (Davis) Ross.

Carolyn was a bus driver for the McCreary County Board of Education; she was a member of the East Stearns Church of God.  She loved to cook, make flower arrangements, spend time with family and friends and loved to spoil her great great niece and nephew; big fan of UK Basketball and WWE Wrestling.

Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband; Melvin Godsey, Four Brothers; Jack, Bill, Gene Allen, And Eddie Ross, three sisters; Wilma Sue Thompson, Shirley Hatfield, Helen Shirley.

She is survived by her son Melvin Allen Godsey of Stearns, Kentucky, A niece whom was like a daughter to her; Sheila and James Terry of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, two brothers; Donald Ross of Stearns, Kentucky, and Newman Ross of Ohio,  A host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Ms. Carolyn Faye Godsey will be conducted Monday, September 22, 2014, at  2:00 PM in the McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Tapley and Bro. Tom Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery.
