Carl Dean Wright

Carl Dean Wright, age 88 years, of the Sandhill Community died Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home.

He was born at Worley Hilltop, Kentucky on June 18, 1935 the son of Cleo Wright and Carrie (Jones) Wright Goodin. Carl had worked in the coal tipple and as a stone mason. Being outdoors, fishing, and hunting were his favorite past times.

His parents; a son, Carl Eugene Wright; and brothers, Hasten "Jap" Wright, Leslie Goodin, Tom Goodin, and Donnie Wayne Goodin precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Jane (Betts) Wright of Whitley City, Kentucky; son, David Wright and his wife, Mona of Rising Sun, Indiana; daughter, Lori Foster and husband, Wade of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Joyce Eckstein, Shirley Stephens, Bonnie Faye Hayes, Janice Watters, Pauline Coffey; grandchildren, Jaden "Connor" Foster, Tammy Stevens, Kelly Wright, Nicole Wright, Brandy Bukowski, David Wright, Jr. and Neal Wright; great grandchildren, JayQuan Bailey, Ryleigh Williams, Kaiyah Wright, Gabriel Lay-Wright, Breanna Wright, Seth Wright, Casondra Hoover, Catrina Brugh, Abby Wright, and Neal Wright, Jr.; a special sister in law, Brenda Goodin; and his four legged friends, a Yorkie named Luci and cat named Si Cat.

Funeral services will be held 12pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitley City Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Funeral Home.
