Burl Dority

Burl Dority, age 62, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky. 
Burl was born in Oneida, Tennessee on December 29, 1959, to the late Arthur Dority and the late Lucy (Strunk) Dority. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and loved fishing, chewing tobacco, and watching TV (specifically gunsmoke). 

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Freddie Dority, Leonard Sammons, Harold Daugherty, Estell Daugherty, Christopher Daugherty; sisters, Truie Strunk, and infant sister Mary Sammons. 
Burl is survived by his brother, Joe Daugherty (Renee), of Whitley City; sister Madie Parriman (Timmie), of Whitley City; a special friend, Carolyn Goodin Coleman; his special family at Quest that he loved dearly; and several special nieces and nephews. 
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 11:00am EST at the Angel Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky, with Bro. Pat Coffey officiating.
