Brad Waters

James Bradley Waters, age 88 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born at Worley Hilltop, Kentucky on May 9, 1932 the son of Frank A and Leevadie (Slaven) Waters. Brad was McCreary County Constable District 2, a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church, a retired Truck Driver, former Chief of Police for McCreary County and Deputy Sheriff. He was also a member of the Orie S. Ware Masonic Lodge #874 and the Dixie Transport Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Buddy W. Waters, Harold Waters, Hasten Waters, Hollis Waters, and Onvie Waters; sisters, Edna Gibson and Minnie Keith; and great grandson Jancetun Wayne Waters.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Winchester) Waters of Strunk; sons, Jack R. Waters, and wife, Janice of Somerset, Steven W. Waters and wife, Jean of Stearns, and Timothy L. Waters of Strunk; grandchildren, Jeremy Waters (Rebecca), Jennifer Cecil (Chris), James Waters (Amber), Stacy Kidd (Dustin), Steven W. Waters II (Taylor), Kristin Seidelman (Dan), and Brett Kidd (Heather); and great grandchildren, Jacob Cecil, Addison Cecil, Isaac Waters, Emma Waters, Abigail Kidd, David Waters, Brooklyn Kidd, Bradlee Waters, Ella Seidelman, Caleb Kidd, and Audrey Kidd

Funeral services will be held 12pm Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Timothy L. Corder officiating. Burial will follow in the Brad and Shirley Waters Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be 7pm Saturday.
