Betty Katherine Hatfield, age 93, of Whitley City, Kentucky, daughter of George William and Nora Lewis Hatfield, passed away June 28, 2018 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, KY. She was born in Somerset, KY, on November 13, 1924.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers; Roland, George “Tweety” Jr. and Robert Hatfield, and sister; Grace Jones.
Surviving family include her nieces and nephews; JoJo and husband Brad Stephens, Page Bryant, Sebrena and husband John Ball, Pam and husband Jim McCardell, Cindy and husband Terry Thomas, Mark and wife Debbie Hatfield, Drew Hatfield, Sue Davis, Marsha Meek, George Riley, Casey Joe, Josie Bette “her namesake”, Bryson, Amber, Travis, Lori, Stuart, Matthew, Amy, Michael, Herbie, Donna, June, and Mark, sister-in-law; Faye Hatfield and her beloved church family.
Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitley City, she loved her church, studying the bible and helping others. She was a totally unselfish Christian who devoted her time going on mission trips and to her numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Betty’s wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the First Baptist Whitley City at 2:00 pm with visitation from noon until time for her service at the church. Brother Phillip Kazee and Bro. Eddie Miller will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Holloway Cemetery.
