Betty Jean Dixon, age 81 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky
She was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky on April 20, 1939 the daughter of Ezra and Dora (King) Slaven. Betty was a homemaker, of the Baptist Faith, enjoyed word search puzzles, crafts, and going to the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center.
Her parents; brother, Lenville Slaven; sisters, Vella Agnes Slaven, Arlene Chitwood, Lorene Slaven, Thela Louise Slaven, Martha King, Flora Tabitha Slaven, Wanda Joyce Thompson, and Edna Bernice Daugherty; and son-in-law, Frank Buell precede her in death.
Survivors include her children, Anthony Slaven and Wife, Sheila of Strunk, Deborah Buell of Loyall, Kentucky, Wendell Steve Dixon and wife, Tammy of Pine Knot, Bill Dixon and wife, Theresa of Pine Knot, and Shannon Dixon of Pine Knot; sister-in-law, Barbara Slaven of Louisville; 18 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Sewell and Bro. Gary Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Josh Wilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Funeral Home.
