Betty Jo Bryant

Betty Jo Bryant, age 83 years, of Nicholasville, Kentucky died Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at her home.

She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on March 13, 1941 the daughter of the late Joe and Janey (Corder) Strunk. Betty had been a homemaker and of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed her family and fur babies.  Above all she was the best mother we could have ever been given. She always fixed biscuits and gravy, seven days a week and a hot cooked meal for supper. She didn’t get out and mingle or meet people, her family was the light of her life.  She worked as a housewife and she also cleaned, painted and always made sure the apartments were ready for the new tenants for many years, before she retired.  We would like to give a special thanks to her granddaughter, Marsha Bryant for always being there for her. Marsha is an RN and Betty would say “She is better than any doctor”.  We would also like to thank Lisa, the nurse with hospice for the special care she gave.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her..

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wolford Bryant; brothers, Bud Strunk, Willie Strunk, Bonnie Strunk, Mack Strunk, and Kenneth Strunk; sisters, Minnie Virginia Threet, Madeline Walker and Jennings Strickler; and grandson, Joseph Bryant.

Survivors include her sons, Ricky Bryant of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Joey Bryant (Patricia) of Georgetown, Kentucky, Kelly Bryant (Darla) of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Phil Bryant of Nicholasville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Richard, Cynthia, Marsha, Georgia, David, Janey (Jeff), Kendra (Jake), and Amber; and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3pm Monday, March 17, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Rufus Hughes officiating. Burial to follow in the Old Pigeon Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 1pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
