BARBARA ANN VANOVER

September 30, 1939 — April 29, 2015

Barbara Ann Vanover, age 75, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at her home in Parkers Lake, Kentucky.

Born September 30, 1939, in Somerset, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Thelma (Hall) Stringer.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a son Ronald Dean Vanover.  Surviving family include her husband Donald Vanover whom she married February 5, 1955, a son Gary Vanover (and wife Wendy) of Parkers Lake, a brother Ray Stringer of Somerset, Kentucky, and a sister Pearlie Childers (and husband James) also of Somerset. 

Barb was a retired business owner along with her husband having operated Ron’s Market in Parkers Lake for many years.  She had done substitute teaching in Dayton, Kentucky before moving to back to McCreary County.  She enjoyed reading and painting.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Braxton King officiating.  Burial was at the Mill Creek Cemetery.
