Alton Leon McCoy

Alton Leon, McCoy, age 56 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Tuesday, March 7. 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Oneida, Tennessee on March 10, 1966 the son of Arlie Rufus McCoy and Mary Ruth (Ridner) Wood.  Alton was a member of the White Oak Junction United Baptist Church, loved being outdoors, and visiting with his family.

His father; brothers, Verlin H. McCoy and Ivan McCoy; and sisters, Ethel Thompson and Brenda Lou Keith precede him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Ruth Wood of Monticello, Kentucky; sisters, Berdenia Faye Watson of Revelo, Kentucky, Zora Bechdalt of Vero Beach, Florida; and Arlene Watson of Whitley City, Kentucky; special friends, Gary, Freda, and Scotty Maxy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Monday, March 13, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie King officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Monday at the Funeral Home.
