Alma Ruth Perry, age 77 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died June 1, 2013 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, June 3, 2013 at 8pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Arnold officiating. Burial was in the Barren Fork Cemetery on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 10am.
She was born in Wiborg, Kentucky on August 17, 1935 the daughter of the late Albert and Nina (Roberts) Strunk. She was a machine operator at the Shirt Factory and member of McCreary Church of Christ and she enjoyed the friendship of her roommate Geneva Kathleen Campbell at McCreary Health and Rehab.
Her parents; husband, Jimmie Ezra Perry; son, Kenneth Earl Perry; daughter, Wilda Lee Perry; brother, James Strunk; sisters, Gloria Bruce, Rebecca Bryant, and Betty Tucker; and 2 grandchildren precede her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmie Allen Perry of Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, and Rodney Evan Perry of Bronston, Kentucky; daughters, Deborah Slaven of Whitley City, Kentucky, Donna Spears of Appalachia, Virginia, and Tammy Slaven of Burnside, Kentucky; brother, Mitchell Ray Strunk of Batavia, Ohio; and sister, Linda Worthington of Stearns, Kentucky. 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren also survive.
