Alice Marie Murphy

Alice Marie Murphy, age 78 years, Daughter of the late William Jessie and Betty Lou Griffis Murphy, died Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset, KY.

Alice was born in Robinson, Tennessee on February 6, 1942.  She was a homemaker and a member of Meadows Grove Baptist church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her  brothers; Ed Murphy, Willard Murphy and Jesse Murphy and sister; Laura Murphy and one infant daughter.

Survivors include her sons; Eric Murphy of Somerset, KY., Danny Murphy of Whitley City, KY., Clevey Murphy and wife Ida of Chatsworth, GA., Benny Higgenbotham and wife Tammy of Berea, KY., daughters; Darlene Stephens of Whitley City, KY., Tandra Dople of Strunk, KY., Sheila Brewster of Stearns, KY., and Connie Baird and husband Orel of Pine Knot., KY.. sister; Georgia Ridener of Whitley City, 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews all of whom will miss her greatly.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Harry Watters officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Wilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Saturday at the Funeral Home.
