Albert Phillips, age 99 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died May 5, 2013 at his home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie King and Bro. Estel Jones officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
He was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on October 25, 1913 the son of the late Cage and Sarah Jane (Branscum) Phillips. He was a farmer and member of the Mt View Baptist Church.
His parents; wife, Zona Lee (Bybee) Phillips; sons, Dean Phillips and Estle Philips; daughters, Dorothy Vaughn, Zella Matthews, and Opal Roberts, and 16 brothers and sisters precede him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Howard Phillips and wife, Thelma of Slavens, Kentucky, Hewey Philllips and wife, Alma of Stearns, Kentucky, and Jimmy Phillips and wife, Teddene of Muncie, Indiana; daughters, Helen Tucker of Stearns, Kentucky, Lorene Roberts and husband, Jeff of Wiborg, Kentucky, and Beulah Jackson of Somerset, Kentucky; and sister, Susie Phillips of Sidney, Ohio. 38 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren also survive.
McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
