Albert L. Coffey, 78, of Saint Marys, Ohio, and formerly of Stearns, Kentucky, died Friday, July 3, 2020, at his home.
He was born July 28, 1941, in Eagen, Tennessee, the son of Earl and Mary (Spradlin) Coffey. Albert retired from New Idea Corporation in Coldwater, Ohio, after many years of service as a tow motor/crane operator. He had worked in the coal mines of Kentucky in his youth. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a Little League baseball coach for many years in Saint Marys.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by a daughter, Rita Roberts; by his siblings: Barbara Coffey; Janice Coffey; Shirley Coffey; Kenneth Coffey; Pete Coffey; Sterling Eugene Coffey; a sister-in-law, Joy Coffey.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Baker) Coffey, whom he married on June 4, 1960 of Saint Marys; sons, James (Terri) Coffey of Celina, Ohio; Robbie (Sherry) Coffey of Saint Marys, Ohio; Jonathan (Ashley) Coffey of Stearns; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Reba Kidd of Stearns; Charlotta “Lot” Kidd of Kentucky; Mary Theresa Coffey of Tennessee; Jerry (Brenda) Coffey of Oneida, Tennessee; Eddie Coffey of Eagen, Tennessee. He is survived by his sisters-in-law: Geraldine Coffey of Cincinnati; Fannie Coffey of Stearns; Paula Coffey of Hamilton, Ohio; Louise Baker of Saint Marys; his brother-in-law, Bob Coffey; a son-in-law, Bob Roberts.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church with Bro. Tom Abbott and Bro. George Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the Spradlin Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Wednesday at the Church.
